A Nashville Birthday

Tomorrow I'm 31 years old--ACK!  Actually, I'm really liking the 30's so far.  I feel blessed beyond measure with my family and friends.  I am really beginning to see and feel the signs of aging, but aging is a beautiful thing and part of life.  Those 3 desserts in one day over Thanksgiving might not be as forgiving this year, but hey, they sure tasted good!  ;-)

A couple of weeks ago I woke up to a note in front of my bathroom sink.  It said the following,

GOOD MORNING!  Just wanted to let you know that we need to leave our house around 4:00 to grab some food then catch a flight out of town.  you need to pack for 2 days.  We are coming back Sunday night.  THe temp will be in the high 60's and the low 50's at night so pack accordingly.  HAPPY EARLY 31st BIRTHDAY!!

P.S. Let's try to not check any bags.

Love you,
Kyle

Oh my goodness was I excited.  I had dropped off my babies with my wonderful in-laws the day before, thinking nothing of it because Kyle said they wanted to take them to the ranch for the weekend.  I was honestly really excited to have some time for the two of us, not having a clue we were taking a little trip.  I had no clue where we were going, but was thrilled beyond measure...and curious!  Thank you, Kyle, for knowing that I needed a heads-up on the weather b/c it's all about packing correctly!  Hehe.

We got to the airport, arrived in the security line and I got my boarding pass...to NASHVILLE!  Soooo excited!  Nashville is a place I've always thought would be a blast and I was right.  Here's some of my memorable and special trip to Nashville:
Here's me with Nashville Pete...or that's my name for him.

We went all over Broadway and Second Avenue to hear great live country...we loved it and Kyle decided to be silly and ride the bull.  Hilarious to watch.  He was quite good!

One of the neatest things on the trip was seeing Carrie Underwood, Martina Mcbride, plus a host of others at the original Grand Ole' Opry, The Ryman.  They had moved the Opry here for awhile.  Notice the vintage sign mentions johnny and june singing there...that made me really excited!

Speaking of, here's my stalker-ish pics of Carrie Underwood... I'm not ashamed--some guys shoulder really messed with my pic, though.  ;-)  Her bodyguard is the dude in front

Carrie again.

Such a wonderful time!  Thanks again to my wonderful husband for taking me on this surprise getaway.  Best time ever!
