The Story of Reid

In January 2006, Kyle and I found out that we were pregnant.  We were beyond thrilled but also very cautiously optomistic since this wasn't our first pregnancy.  A lot of praying had occurred for this baby, and God sure did answer our prayers with a perfect little blessing the following September.

Around 18 weeks we decided to find out the gender of the baby and have a party to announce what we were having afterwards.  Our family came over and we scrambled up the letters to Reid's first and middle name.  They had to unscramble to make some kind of name appear.  My sister-in-law Jaime kept saying "Riley"--hahaha!  Not so much, Jaime!  ;-)  Here's what the letters spelled with my sweet nieces' little hands in the pic.  We were beyond thrilled to find out we were having a little man.

Of course Wallace and Jaime also had presents for both genders and were there to shower us with boy gifts that night!

Blair and Ashley Y. were in attendance too!

My first Mother's Day as a Mommy (he's in my tummy)--today we have this pic in an album of family for Reid and he always points out how he's in my tummy

Our church shower in which I was really, really excited to get a bumbo from the look on my face

I have no clue when we took this, but Naomi, Jenn, Mandi and I met in Waco one day and went by the new Panhellenic bdlg.  Exciting stuff...Reid's in my tum tum

Three of my best childhood friends, Terri (preggo in the pic), Amanda and Ashley at my shower

Future Gigi, myself and Already a Grammy with another one on the way...fyi, "Lion aka Wion" was a gift from my hostesses at this shower, along with my swing.  Thank Heavens for Lion!

Crystal, Naomi and Jennifer at my shower

We were so blessed by all of our family and friends with love, support and prayers for our little man. God taught me a lot during that time of my life. I could be nervous the entire pregnancy or I could give all my worries and concerns to Him and enjoy the experience. Oh how excited I was to have symptoms!!! God was so faithful!  I chose to not bear the burden of worry and give it to Him.  The experience ended up being an amazing one.

On September 21, 2006 we got up early in the morning to head to the hospital. Below you will see a picture of Shrek...I mean me, the morning of...this picture makes Kyle laugh like no other picture ever will. I must say, I do know how to carry a baby, ehh?! Hot mama!  Please notice our awesome old garage, along with my awesome roots!  WOW.  WOW.  That's really all that I can say.

to be continued...
