You see me standing here? Posing? Looking cute? I just love the camera these days and I also love to walk in laps around my house...while pushing things. What I DO NOT love is when Mommy lets go of my hand and tries to make me walk. NOT GONNA DO IT, lady! I will stand there alone for a few seconds but don't you try to make me take a step. I've got a system going where I just drop to the floor and crawl. It's comfy and what's the need to walk when I can crawl so well anyways?
So you can look at me standing and posing all day but I'm not gonna do it--walk that is. Nope. I won't crawl to kindergarten so don't fear, but I might crawl to preschool next year! ;-)
Okay, seriously, I was walking by 10 months and Kyle was walking around a year or so. Our children: well...Reid was 17 months and Caroline is still up in the air. It's a bit comical to be honest. I can say this now b/c with Reid I did not find it funny...at all. In fact I was so worried that he was in the ECI program (early childhood intervention) to help him crawl then walk. He didn't crawl until he was a year, so when Caroline crawled at 9 months I thought she was a gross motor genius! ;-) Well little Birdie (this is my new nickname for her given by my friend and I just love it) has proved me wrong by being just as stubborn as her bro. Do Kyle and I just breed stubborn, late walkers? I guess so! So second go round I'm laughing...and it feels good to be so relaxed.

Her outfit is soooo cute!! It is so true that you really can't make them do things before they are ready. I'm glad to know it is easier to laugh about it with the second one :)
ReplyDeleteDavis is right there with her! He's just as content crawling...going on 15 months...
