Lesson 1: Cover your cabinets if they are newly painted white or just white in general.
Lesson 2: It is called dye for a reason.
Lesson 3: To ensure everyone has a good time when the egg dying is over (including mommy) THEN remove the paper or plastic you put on the white cabinets. That might better take care of your white cabinets being dyed along with your eggs.
As you may have guessed we had a really good time dying eggs. In fact we did it more than once this year. So much fun and a great family activity. However, now that my dark kitchen is WHITE (WAHOO!!!!--just needs hardware and it'll be finito) the words "dye" have a whole new meaning. Regardless of how easy to clean and wipe down your white cabinets are, colored dye is still dye. Thank goodness our wonderful painter still had another coat to go at this point, because the blue streaks...and that little pink one are now gone. LESSON LEARNED.
