Round Top Girls' Trip

The truck is packed, ready to head out to Round Top Spring 2011!  We left on a Friday and came back on a Sunday...a fun weekend for anyone who likes that great antique or unique treasure hunt.
We stayed at the Prairie by Rachel Ashwell.  Since she is the queen of Shabby Chic, it was pretty cool to learn that she had bought property and was turning it into her own in Round Top.  My friend Kasie learned all about this little treasure from the Cote de Texas blog.  We somehow got on a waiting list and got reservations for the big opening weekend.  It was beautiful and fabulously shabby chic!
The front of our cottage
The view of our cottage on the property...the outside doesn't give the adorable house justice.  The inside was decorated head to toe in Ms. Ashwell's duds.  So adorable.
The cook.  This teddy bear was located at the main lodge.  He cooked up the BEST breakfast I've had in awhile.  He also donned the Shabby Chic apron, which was so perfect!
Day one of Round Top I ran into one of my good college friends, Courtney.  She has Anthologie Images in Dallas and the blog, Our Life.  The three of us were pledge sisters in Chi Omega at Baylor.  Woohoo!  Fun times seeing friends.
Here I am posing on the front porch of my house.  Okay, not really, but I LOVE old homes...and my friends thought my country attire matched the country house.  The Kodak moment was born.  ;-)
And posing inside with our friend, Gus the deer head, while sitting on my new chair next to my new globe.  This was my posing with my loot picture...showcasing the deer.  We found the deer to be really funny...and really oddly placed.  Whatever.  I shouldn't question Ms. Ashwell, right?
After much thought...and more thought, I finally made my big purchase: these two little adorable yellow chairs.  I LOVE them.  Thanks for posing with me, Amy...and the swans!

  1. I didn't realize a cute outfit was a pre-requisite for shopping at Round Top!
