Interview with a 3 1/2 Year Old

Mr. Talkative, Curious and Quite Precocious Reid is already 3 1/2!  Where is the time going?!  Here he is telling me all about a rock he found.  Such fascination!  I decided to interview him after taking a cue from my friend's blog.  I'll let him tell you in his own words what's going on in his precious life right now. Disclosure: Some of the following answers might leave you scratching your head.  It's okay, you are not alone.

Q: What is your favorite thing to eat?
 A: Grilled Cheese

Q: What is your favorite color?
A: Ummmm, red.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do?
A: Play

Q: Who is your best friend?
A: Callie, Luke and Paige

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Married to Madison.  The flower one from Uncle Taylor and Aunt Lindsey's wedding.

Q: What's your favorite  music?
A: The David Crowder Band on the stairs.

Q: Where's you favorite place to go?
A: in the backyard and in the front yard and I like to go bye bye to Hudson's house.  Remember when I go to Hudson's backyard with Hudson?

Q: What's  your favorite tv show?
A: Team Umizumi, Mickey Mouse, Yo Gabba Gabba and not Spongebob because he's weird. {Reid's also not allowed to watch that show--sidenote.  hehe}

Q: What's your favorite thing to do with Mommy?/Daddy?
A:  With Mommy: to play with me and Caroline
A: With Daddy: to play guitar in the Shockwave band and TXT3 band sometimes.

There are surely a lot more questions I would have loved to asked, but he was pretty spent on my interviewing process.  The above picture captures him to a tee right now.  Notice his elbows are covered in scrapes (some fresh, some old) while his face is covered with a big smile.

Mr. Independent:
  • Reid, you LOVE to talk.  You seriously NEVER stop talking.  OH MY GOSH.  I think this might have come from me, so who am I to go crazy?!  Daddy and I have to tell you to breathe b/c you barely take breaths in b/t thoughts.  You just have so very much to tell us...constantly!
  • You are still so obsessed with random things and how they work.  Such a boy.  I should have known from the get-go with the garage door love.  Buttons, knobs, etc. can really occupy the fascination part of your day.
  • You have gotten SO very Independent.  You want to do everything by yourself.  You run in front of me where ever we go so you can open the door.  I'd like to think this is you being gentlemanly (I'm working on it), but rather, the door is usually swinging in my face when I get there due to your pure joy of just opening the thing.  *Sigh*
  • You are such a big boy in your bed.  In the last week you have started coming downstairs on your own in the morning when you wake up with your entourage of: Lovey, Lion, Fuzzy Blanket, Other Blanket and sometimes Lamb & Michael.  I'm so proud of my big boy!  You know if you wake up and it's "bright" outside then you can come downstairs in lieu of yelling "Mommy!" at the top of your lungs and waking up Caroline.  Hip, hip, hooray!
  • You are such an amazing big brother.  While you two do often have your tiffs over things like taking toys and pushing, you also truly love one another.  You ALWAYS want Caroline to play with you.  You invite her outside, want her to come into the playroom, etc.  It makes my heart melt when you say, "Come on, Carowine, let's go."  You are still very concerned for her well-being...and her behavior.  You are always sure to tell me when she's disobeying.  heehee!
  • You are ridiculously silly and humorous, which I love.  I think you are following in your Daddy's footsteps there.  Nothing better than a man that can make you laugh...or I think so at least.
  • You are really interested in God lately, which is fabulous!  There's only one thing that you've got really confused: you think that God, Jesus and Santa all live in Heaven and the North Pole.  The whole Christmas thing really got you perplexed.  We're currently reading a bible story each night before bed in hopes that the whole Santa scenario will be cleared up...so far, it's not working!  ;-)
  • You still say the darnest things like last weeks, "My pooh pooh is green like a pickle."  Yes, folks, that is a quote.
Reid,

Your Daddy and I are more and more thankful for you everyday.  While this might have been the toughest year with you so far behaviorally (three has thrown me for a loop), your imagination, tender moments and humor have always ended the day with a smile.  Thanks for being you because God made you special and just how he wanted you to be.  Every inch of your personality and appearance were beautifully crafted ESPECIALLY for you.  Your Dad and I are just so thankful to watch you grow!

Love,
Mommy
